Company Information
Suncorp has come a long way since its inception in 1916 as the Queensland government's State Accident Insurance Office. Still owned by the government in 1996, Suncorp and QIDC merged into Metway Bank. The government sold its shares of this publicly listed company over the next several years.
Now Suncorp serves over four million customers. It ranks fourth in size among general insurance groups and sixth among banks.
